This is a particularly fine tour if you are in London for a short period of time, and would like to leave with an understanding of the most prominent sites.

Perfect tour with the perfect guide!
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 June 2014 NEW

We took 2 tours with Matt: The Essential London tour and Changing of the Guards tour. Both were fantastic. Matt is a great guide and he knows what he is doing: you will be in the right spot at the right time! Our teenage boys were listening to every word he was saying! The price must be the most affordable in London, he should consider raising it, but enjoy it while it lasts! Thank you Matt!

My husband, his parents, and I did the private Essential Sites tour and the group Changing of the Guard tour with Matt Gedge in August 2014. The tours were, hands down, the best part of our trip to London. Matt was a great tour guide: engaging, funny, intelligent, knowledgeable, and easy going. We took the private tour with him on a Saturday afternoon, when the city was rammed with people. Weren't sure what to expect, but he did an amazing job of walking us through the busy streets while pointing out the sites and giving us great information about the city and its history. The next day, we did the group Changing of the Guards tour, and we had a blast. Matt knew exactly where we needed to be for each part of the ceremony, so we had the best possible views. And he entertained us every step of the way.

My husband and I have taken a lot of tours throughout Europe, and we have been to London many times. Matt is one of the best tour guides we have ever had, and we learned a lot about London and the UK that we didn't know. And we had fun every step of the way.

Great Walking Tour
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 June 2014

Our family recently booked ourselves on the 'Essential London Tour'. Matt brought our small group on the 2-hour walking tour. For our family, the highlight was to be able to see the Changing of Horse Guards up close. Matt knew exactly where to stand, and he made sure that we were at the correct spots where we could see all the exciting actions, with him giving us a running commentary as things moved along. We were able to take good pictures with the Horse Guards on duty at the gates. The rest of the walking tour was great, well paced, and Matt shared with us the history, told us interesting stories behind the various places, and monuments. Matt is a very friendly and personable guide, who takes genuinely interest in sharing with the group a slice of London, which he personally researched and takes pride in. Well done Matt, and thank you for the awesome tour! We will surely tell our friends about you, and the great experience on your tour!

Highly Recommend!!!!

We had a great experience with Matt on our Essential London tour. Matt was prompt, friendly, and very knowledgable about London. He kept a good steady pace yet was very open to our questions. He even manged to keep the attention of our teenage son which can sometimes be a challenge. Very pleasant demeanor and easy to work with. Overall highly recommend and would use him again next time we return to London. We have recommended his tour to our friends as well.

“The perfect family tour!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 22, 2013

We have two children (9 & 12) and I tried to find a tour that would be fun and interesting but not venture into cheesy (duck tour anyone?).

The Royal Tour was a two hour highlight of our first trip to London with our daughters. We had a small group (ok...it's Fall...we were the only ones) and Matt was the PERFECT tour guide. Professional (impeccable timing and placed us in the perfect locations for the best views) but also he was genuinely enthusiastic about his love of British history.

We saw the Queen...really...pretty amazing...for us and Matt. But we would have raved about the tour even without a Royalty sighting.

Book Matt and Fun London Tours. Lovely fellow. Brilliant tour.

“Royal Tour with the Changing of the Horse Guard - wonderful!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 12, 2013

We had already seen the changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace so thought this would be boring by comparison - no so! The changing of the Horse Guard is a wonderful spectacle, I enjoyed it more! As Matt walked us through London we learned so much - just a wonderful, fun and informative morning.

“Friendliest Tour Guide in London”

Fantastic tour. Matt got us up close & personal with the Horse Guards. He knows all the best spots for photo opportunities & to avoid the large crowds. Made it enjoyable for the kids with a blend of modern & historical info. Highly recommend & will definitely use again when we return to London one day.

“FLTS Horse Guards Tour”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 14, 2013

This tour with Matt was wonderful and informative. Matt knew exactly where to stand, which corners were the best to see from without to many people to block our view. We got to see more of the horses and a lot LESS crowd. Matt was a pleasure to be around for 2 hours and I wish I had booked his services for a longer time period. I highly recommend Matt for a wide range of tour services in the London area for any travel agency wishing to provide their clients with the best of the best.
