London has more than its fair share of strange tales, and on this walk you will be journeying into the depths of the old City to discover the more extraordinary stories and locations which are often overlooked. But in order to do this, we will need to explore the forgotten alleyways and medieval courtyards, look up, around & under, and peer through windows & bars.

As the local resident Samuel Johnson once said “”Why, Sir, you find no man, at all intellectual, who is willing to leave London. No, Sir, when a man is tired of London, he is tired of life; for there is in London all that life can afford.”

And this is the walk to keep that torch for London burning bright!

Please note there are several short flights of steps on this tour which cannot be avoided. Some of the photos below provide by Pinay Flying High, international blogger who wrote this article about the walk!

Does the tour go ahead in the rain?

Yes, all our tours go ahead in the rain, so come prepared for the famous British weather!

One thing to note for our changing the guard tour: The British Army reserve the right to alter the changing the guard ceremony if they so wish, but will not make a decision until the event is due to start. If there is a threat of rain, your guide will inform the group of the potential impact on the ceremony. You will always see guards, but their movements may vary, and musicians may not play.

How do I recognise the Guide?

Our guide will be carrying a Fun London Tours flag.

Can I turn up for a walk without booking first?

It is very possible that our tours will be full so if you turn up without booking you may well miss the tour. This is particularly relevant on the Changing The Guard which is extremely popular. We limit numbers on our tours to make them more personable and to maximise enjoyment, so we would have to turn you away if this number has been reached. However, those who booked online will be prioritised, followed by a first to arrive basis.

If you don’t book in advance you will not get any notification of changed locations or cancellations. We will always turn up for the tour if someone has booked, but if there have been no bookings for a tour it is very likely that it will be cancelled. And don’t forget, some of the walks are discounted for those who book online.

Do you cater for disabilities?

At FLT we try to be as inclusive as possible, so if you have any particular disability, please email us at info@funlondontours.com beforehand and we will do our best to ensure the tour works for you.

How early should I arrive for the walk?

Please come 10 minutes before the allotted time so that we are ready to go promptly, especially if you have decided to come without booking online. Please note that in London there are regular road closures, engineering works on the tube and other events which can easily delay your journey. Ensure you make allowances for this as we do not wait for latecomers.
