Come with us and journey back in time to hear stories about a London rich in pageantry, honour and medieval festivals, but also one terrorised by brutal executions, devastating plagues and violent uprisings. We’ll be walking through the ancient backstreets of London, through churchyards and markets, past historic pubs and forgotten memorials.

Along the way you’ll be introduced to some of the extraordinary events which shaped this city, and some of the lesser known figures who left their mark – the heroes and villains of old London. On this tour you will be further off the tourist trail than any of our other walks, being immersed in the real – and sometimes gruesome - history of London.

This one is definitely for the intrepid explorer!

Best Tour Guide

This was my favorite tour among all the tours of my vacation in Europe. I took a peacefully walking tour through the oldest parts of the City of London, an area that was free from the crowds found around Westminster. This tour is called the "Forgotten London Tour" and can be taken as an affordable group tour or as a private tour. The charming guide provided a wonderful experience. I highly recommend the tour!!!

Fantastic off the beaten track

Just recently (yesterday) took the Forgotten London tour with Matt Gedge as our guide. We're so happy that we booked as it was so interesting. Matt made the afternoon so much fun couldn't wait to write a review Well done Matt , we truly enjoyed our time with you the tour was wonderful

Forgotten London tour, fabulous

Having done the excellent Secret London walking tour last year, my wife and I decided to do another of Matts tours this weekend. Once again a really good trip into Londons past, visiting some well known places as well as discovering facinating bits of londons history you could never find alone. Matt has a great manner in keeping all the group involved and informed. This tour has so much to recommend it, we went from the Black death to William Wallace, Henry V111, Thomas Cromwell and Sherlock Holmes, to mention but a few in just over an hour and half.
Treat yourself to this walk, it is wonderfully informative and entertaining for less than the price of a pub lunch. Brilliant.

Forgotten London

Extremely interesting tour. We visited places we would not normally have visited and we learnt so much. You would imagine a walking tour to be full on and tiring, but this tour was an extremely pleasant and very informative stroll. Matt our tour guide was excellent, friendly, easy to talk to and so so knowledgable. I wished we had more time to have done the Secret London tour. Well recommended.

Fascinating and Interesting Tour!

We did the Forgotten London Tour and had a great time. I learnt more in a single afternoon about this great city of ours than I had done in a very long time. We were part of a group of about 15 tourists so the numbers were about right to feel engaged with what was being said. Matt gave us a fascinating insight into parts of London that you wouldn't normally stop to pass the time in and we finished up in the hidden gem of the Guildhall. It's amazing to think that only a couple of miles away, the city is bristling with activity and life yet on a Saturday afternoon in the heart of the city the place is almost tranquil. We would definitely recommend this tour to those looking to see a different side to London.

Forgotten London 4th July

We had a great time with Matt, he was very informative and we discovered lots of things we would never have found on our own! We also popped in to the guild hall gallery on matts suggestion (free entry) Would highly recommend this tour.

Great tour guide

Had a great time on the Forgotten London Tour. Matt certainly knew his stuff, seen lots of hidden gems and places that didn't even know existed! Will definitely look him up next time we are in the big city. Worth every penny and definite value for money

Forgotten London

A very enjoyable & informative walk with lots of interesting & amusing anecdotes.
Matt is an excellent guide who doesn't need to indulge in the arm-waving theatrics employed by some others.
Would definitely recommend !!
